ID on this freshwater grouper

I'm guessing it's not Notesthes robusta. Bullrouts are natives of Australia and any imports from down-under are scarce, at best, lately. Vespicula sp. are common imports from the Indo-West Pacific areas like Indonesia and the Philippines.
 
Interesting.The fish in the poster's photos is the same one I have seen in the stores over the years and looks just like Notesthes in my books.I'll have to take a look at the fish that you mentioned.

+1 on the waspfish. agreed 100% with oddball, looks like it.. and if it is brackish, you need to purchase some type of salt meant for saltwater. Instant ocean reef salt is the easiest most commonly used type of salt. You will also need a hydrometer or refractometer, to measure the salinity of the water. 0.0 is fresh, and 1.024 is full marine. so a happy medium is needed...not sure on the exact sg needed but i'm sure someone could throw taht out there for brackish. I do fresh and marine, never tried brackish...
