ID on trout...........

Seems that most "experts" have forget about the mystery trout's TAIL which is a square, only the brown trout has this. Just because this fish has faint pink stripe, doesn't means it's a rainbow. Trouts are diffculty to be ID these days due to huge variable traits they have. Recently I caught a trout in a Minnesota lake that has red splash on its throat but there is no Cutthroats or Cutbows in Minnesota.

However this isn't good picture for ID a trout.

Are you kiddin me? Are you trying to say that the original fish "cichlid fiend", posted is a brown. Are you that dumb? Are square blocked tail...? Cmon, a total idiot would try and id a trout based on its tail. Look at the markings....And your probably gonna say the fish just posted in a tank is a rainbow.

Its looks like a rainbow in spawing colors

I would be appericate if you don't call me dumb, but I guess you just reveal yourself as an idiot.

As I said the picture wasn't that good and the markings weren't that clearly. Both rainbows and browns are pretty variable in spots and colors. This thread is really ridiculous about people try to guess a species from a bad picture of a heavily bleeded trout.

Agree 100%. The markings within even the same population of trout can show incredible variation from individual to individual.

my initial instinct was brown due to the golden color, and square tail., however I did blow it up and look closer at it, and its most likely a rainbow. I suppose there could be hybrids too.
