It's definately not zonatum. There's no green or blue what-so-ever. It's probably a "mutt", a mix of different paratheps species. Trying to identify paratheps has become almost as bad as trying to tell and LFS "midas" from an LFS "red devil".

I guess there's a little blue and green in the first pic, but if you do a search for paratheps zonatum, the results are much more blue and green.

It is not a zonatus. If it's a zonatus it's the ugliest one I've ever seen. 
Here's my female zonauts for comparison.
I'll still say black belt, or mutt. There are a lot of different collection localles that have more/less red and a defined/undefined belt. CHC's wild Nic male comes to mind...very dark, almost no red.

got him monday was told it was a blue cheek cichlid.
