+1 ...I agree.....it's the deeper flatter panfish-shape that makes me say that.....RTM, Jag, Yellowjackets....all the ones I have seen are more streamlined and less heavily built as youngsters. I'm going with Loiselle before Dovii for now

I would have added managuense and friedrichstelli, but when I had them, and they were spawning for me, it was back in the 80s, before I had a camera.

Duanes you're like a living reference guide via your photo stock and knowledge based on your experiences keeping fish for longer than many of us have been alive I imagine
I have three of these " mystery fish " growing out . Exactly what they looked like as babies . They are now 4 or 5 " two females one males . I would love to get opinions because they would identify these fish. I will take a picture right now.
