Agree with above. Cyano x carpinte

It does look like an attempt for a red texas.

Looks like he has a lot of the Cyano physical characteristics, but I would say some sort of hybrid.

So why are people throwing hybrid out there? Man people like to jump on bandwagons here.

Looks like a cyano to me.

It looks like red is very dominant (and I know there are shades of red in cyannos). More pics would help, but from one angle, that's how it looks to me. I replied without reading through everyone else's posts, so I apologize for being on the wagon. It is possible for people to have their own opinion.....

theres something about that fish that doesnt look pure carp or cyano, or even a hybrid of the two. the face just looks a little different

I'd say the color is from the fish being in a bright tank without a background on light colored gravel. The fins are the proper color, and I bet if the fish was kept in a different tank the body would color up to have the olive base of other cyanos.

Body shape doesn't indicate much. It can vary on diet, tank size, population genetics and individual genetics.

Very possible. It's kind of hard to go off of single pics sometimes for that reason. Cyanno is the only "tex" I see in it, but the coloration looked like attempts I've seen at red tex.
