so what can i expect from this guy in relation to size, agression etc ? looks like he will be going into the big cichlid tank now :)
They get to be a good size ... some 10 inches i believe..i have two.. and although people say they are aggressive ..i find they are more aggressive with each other then they are with other tank mates.. they get alot of red color in them.. and it looks awesome along with the black.. their eyes change to almost cats eyes.. i will dig up pics if i can..

If it is a BB they are awesome! I had one once a long time ago. I bought it at about an inch big. Grew it until about 5 inches and laid eggs. Then proceeded to beat the living snot out of everything in the tank...

I had to get rid of her. I want a male cause this breed is stunning as an adult.

lol thanks guys ! well if he does get super agro i have an agressive cichlid tank 120g downstairs so he can play with my GT, blue acara and all my other boysterous fish :)
i will get some decent pics on here later so we can positively ID him !!!

He is already positively ID"d just get some pics on so we can see him again... :Dhere are two of mine.. but believe me they look better then this..but only pic i could find right now..mine are with red devil, wild oscar, venustus male, and jaguar.. all great together..

agreeing with others a black belt, an aggressive tank with blue acara,,hehe be careful even in there mate, these can be evil, similar lines of vieja and my vieja bifa was the worst son of a b i had ever seen worse than the jaguar i had

they are lookers but mean s.o.b.s mine is particularly nasty

Come pair to say a Amphilophus Isletas, which is meaner?

BB are well known for being brutes - once they hit the 10"+ mark expect them to take over a tank. There's not much out there outside of the Vieja complex that can compete with their bulky size and temprement.
