ID Please

Hey fellow MFKers,

Can anyone get a positive ID on this guy? It's an old pic from a buddy of mine (brettonstein) of a catfish he had back in the day.

Never really got a definite species on him.

Pimelodus maculatus - Spotted pim. I think but what size was it?
 
he was about 12" before he got eaten by my albino stupid channel cat

The reason I ruled out P. maculatus was due to the lenght of the soft ray portion of the dorsal fin (adipose)...it reaches the caudal peduncle and almost touches the caudal fin itslef.

Any other ideas? I was poking around on PC and didn't really find anything that I was sold on 100%.

At least it seems like the Pimelodidae family is the right direction though.
