I was at my lfs last week and they had this 12" fella. They were asking for $35. Is that a good deal and how rare is this breed? Thanks..

the price is fair,it is a lap,rareity can be relative there are other species more common

yep lap and ca get to 24'' but that would take many years

that's a steal here for one. i paid 100 for one at about 10 inches. all bichirs except for sens and ornates are rare around here.

it is a lapradei... but just to elaborate alittle bit more though, it is looks to be one of the lesser common regional varients 'guinea lapradei'. the most common lapradei are from nigeria.

it is a very good price and a nice looking specimen. congrats and enjoy
