These cichla we are discusing came from NECichlids a few months back as 'farm raised' Orinocensis. I asked him multiple times if he was positive on the id and he told me that he had been ordering orinos from this supplier for 3 years and has no reason to doubt that they are not orinos.

bro.... this is to: TUG, ALMOSTEASY, AND TONGUE... if you all have the same batch of siblings/fry from N-E-CICHLIDS.... and are hoping they are ORINOCENSIS... sorry to tell you... THOSE ARE DEFINITLY NOT ORINO"S
i will back-up that up 100%..... i definitly trust my insticts on this one.... especially now i know where it came from!!! NOT TO KNOCK ON YOU ( N-E-CICHLIDS/NICK ) if you out there reading this.... as far as i know you have came through before and satisfied most of your customers... but some batches lately that came from you were bogus in regaurds to pea's!!! now thinking about it there is another member here that is trying to pass the same batch as orino's in the (BUY&SELL) or was....
as far as knowing those are not orino's... first of all they cannot be showing patterns of a temensis at a juvinile stage...:grinno:
2nd, is your source for now:ROFL:...
3rd... they have the body shape of monoc... and distinctive identification with shape of sins, head shape, & markings..... etc...
4th... with all the above... its definitly not going into a cacoon like a butterfly would... and evolve into your dream ORINO:ROFL:... sorry.... i mean,, im really SORRY:(...

I'll confirm 100% that both fish pictured, Toungue's and itsalmosteasy's came from the same batch;) We ALL recieved (mine included) the same fish from the same supplier at the exact same time. I could post pictures of mine and they look different then both fishes pictured above, doesn't change the fact that they are all the same sp.;)

now i can discuss this with you bro.....:D
so tell me what is the IDENTIFICATION 100% on YOUR BATCH..... i hope your not another hoping theyre orino's:ROFL:........

P.S.... before this gets really TECHNICAL... which i hope this doesnt get out of hand...... i just wanna say IM NO EXPERT... pls.... dont take it personal fellas.... im just droppin my 2pennys:D

No worries man;) I'm not a 12 year old kid that throws temper tantrums when people don't share my opinion or point of view. I can handle whatever you guys want to say:popcorn:

So to answer your question....

Yes, I'm one of the people thinking I have Orino's, why....because that's what I was told I was buying;)

I never claimed nor confirmed the identification of these fish. I simply confirmed they are from the same batch that Nick was selling, and that both fish pictured came in together.

I'm not going to attempt to correctly I.D these fish:nilly: The whole reason for this thread (and others like this) was to see what fish is actually in our tanks. There was rumors/ talk about N.E cichlids orino's not being legit so we're trolling the water to see what we get.;) (well that's what I got out of this thread but we never really know what Toungue is thinking when he does stuff:ROFL:)

So in closing....

Yes I hope I have Orino's, if it turns out they are not I'm kinda pissed because that's what they we sold as:irked:

Never tried to say I could 100% confirm I.D;)

I'm wondering how the I.D could change so fast? In the first couple pages all I read was Tem or Pinima, now we get results like 100% positve not Orino's and most likely Mono's? Is it all because of the fishes orgins, N.E Cichlids?

ok well the reason why i asked if they are farm or wild is because with wild cichla there are possibilities of getting mixed batches of diff sp. depending on how they are collected, if they are collected in large quantities, or who they are imported from.. this is not the case.

sorry guys but i dont think you have orinos and after mentioning your sources i really dont think you have orinos.. your cichlas red eyes are throwing me off a bit so im guessing mono/ocellaris or just some farm monos. they have the body shape and fins of a mono. time will tell and keep us updated.

;)..... just to clarify thing on that situation....
we all think so highly for tongue... because he is a very good advisor... with the knowedge he shares..... so in this particular case.... we thought or i thought he was doing to throw a pea bass that is rare at a juvinile stage.... in order to share his knowledge...;)... but overall tongue has a character to keep everyone on their toes.... so with that said much love to him!!!;)....

about your cichla.... its just with alot of reading and studying bro... identifying each species... flaws and description...;)
nothing about n-e-cichlids!!!;)
