My male Red tiger is 6 or 7inch and my female is like 4 to 5inch they have layed eggs once but it was there 1st time so they didnt get it right
 
are Moto's mouths as blunt as Dempsey’s? I always thought they were more elongated. This guy’s head/mouth is really similar to a Dempsey. So unless he’s a cross between a moto and a Dempsey, I would say it's not a moto
 
I would say its a female Mota.. Compare to the healthy female Mota pictured below it. Notice the black splotches near the gill plates?

I would also say it might of been neglected at one point in time because look at how large the eyes are in comparison with the body.. Possibly stunted growth? This could also be the cause of the awkward mouth and body structure. It looks very hungry, with torn fins.. All signs of neglect.

Could also be a JD/Mota cross... and then neglected.

I think it's a mutt. On top of that its a mistreated mutt. I hope you didn't pay a lot for it.
 
Looks like a Mota...with nice red....

The head is shaped differently..could just be one of those 'differently shaped' fish but a pure fish.

I see alot of those at LFS around here. Whether it's an Oscar, Jaguar, GT, JD etc. They have different looking bodies.

what makes you say female?
the stomach was a little sunken in but it just came in off the truck. they normally don't feed them before shipping.
you might be right about the eyes :WHOA: . I just assumed they were large because it's a juvi
