ID please

It's Etroplus suratensis, the Green Chromide. They get to over a foot and prefer brackish water. They're asian.

It's a green chromide ... indian cichlid, brackish water and veggitarian.

that is from mabagascar and india it is atroplus suratensis trade name green chromide it should get about 18 inches long.green chromide can be in fresh or brackish waters. nice fish
It's not a hybrid or a Tilapia. And I agree with Dog of War.
It looks a little washed out, but my 1st impression was Etroplus suratensus , from Sri Lanka, one of the 3 cichlids endemic to the Indian continent.
If not it could be one of the Paretroplines from Madagascar, but I doubt it.
Here's an old ph/cam pic of mine, he grew to @ 12", and ate almost exclusively vegetarian..
