Definitely of the carp family - take some better pics and post them, cause to me it looks like it's just a juvenile common carp (Cyprinus capio) and not a koi from those pics.

koi=carp, there is no significant difference that will affect the behavior, they are the same species

Duh, I know that, but there is the difference in aesthetics between nishikigoi and what you can find in many of the lakes in the US.

I will back up these guys that your killer is just koi carp but your koi's odd one koi as most koi and carp seldom eat goldfish and heavily armored pleco.
