it is a platyrhincus just as most are. Terribly crappy conditions for the fish. It would look much better not being in such sterile and blank conditions.

It likely is just fine under the current crap conditions. It will never be very good looking under this though. It will always be flushed out with little pattern under these conditions. It will not really effect the fish much but it will always look like crap if kept like this.
