The ones usually sold in store I believe are Xenentodon cancila which originate from India. They grow to about 12" and like to school, so a group of them would be good.

Hmmm...I've always thought that other "Gars" usually end up as some type of Characin.

You got me, I have no idea if they actually are or not. But it seems that most sites group them in with the characins.

i believe they are not.
