Yeah, unfortunately I have not seen any available in the states either. Would love to have one (at least).

Eric's on the money about it being a Petenia Splendida and a very beautiful variant.
I have keep a few in the past and have a 16inch Snook that must be pushing 10yrs now.
Great fish but I call them poor mans Cichla.

Pics please! :)

Seems like there would be a serious demand for these.

Someone should talk to one of the vendors who deals with fish from down there. Maybe Jeff Rapps could bring some in.

2nd on the pics!

Well i found two of these guys at my LFS today, only had the money for one. But he said no one buys them so i'll pick the other up too later! He orders them in because he likes the greens better than the reds.

Pics later, but he's way small and all i have is my phone.

finally a thread that isn't about ebjds! i've been seeing red snooks a lot lately in lfs. i've been trying to keep my eyes open for the 'green variant' with no prevail. there was a thread a little while back with pics of i think yellow/purple snooks too.

On the topic of reccessive or dominant. There is no gene. Two reds will make 100% reds. Two greens will make 100% greens. And a red and green should make 50% green 50% red.

Sometimes you will be lucky, and have only 99.5% of the parent colour. That will result in a colour morph snook, which i'll happily buy off you....

So if breed this guys with a red i will get some greens too? Sweet, are these guys dimorphic.

Imagine melanistic baysnook. :nilly:
