If someone was able to cross these with snakeheads, would they be legal to keep in the US? I have always wondered on the legality of snakehead hybrids.

That is just my impression of their appearence,
crossbreeds might be possible within the family of Channidae but these Ctenopomas are a completely different family. It would be like crossing a hamster and a house cat. Not going to happen.
Any hybrid channa would still be a channa and as such illegal in the US.
