looks like he was kept in tiny tank and got disfigured, if you have the room you might as well get him though doubt he will live much longer

hes like 3 years old or something

from what i understand hes in a 55 with a pleco...

who from what i understand he tried to eat and they had to remove the pleco from his throat cause he got stuck

im going to be grabbing him this week i think...

poor little guy needs a bigger home and some friends.

def doesnt look like he was kept in 55g, he has body hump like someone kept him in 10g his whole life, make sure you get good look at tank to see if its actually 55g, there was someone on craigslist here that said he was selling 100g and it was actually only a 55g so some people just think their tanks are bigger than they actually are, either way he def needs a better home thats for sure poor thing looks like hes def had a hard life

That happens with JDs, not sure if it's a genetic defect in tank bred fish or what, but I know we've had thread(s) about it in the past. It tends to come with age though; 3 seems young.

is it something that just happens because of genes or does its upbringing have a factor in it? im just curious because iv never seen/heard of a fish that was brought up well and have this type of deformity, would suck to take great care of a fish and it still get like this...

could just be bad genetics, doesn't necessarily mean the fish is going to die soon.

i say if you like the fish take it from this guy and give it a good home...what could possibly be the harm in that?
