I've seen deformed JDs before, beats me why but it does seem to happen to them a bit more than other breeds (?)
an LFS near me keeps one that is basically bent in half . . . they say he's not suffering and they'll keep him alive (they won't sell him) for as long as he continues to eat . . . it was kind of disturbing to look at, to be honest . . .
