hello, could someone please id this fish for me. LFS told me its a red pearl cichlid, which i doubt cause it doesnt even exist -.-'' sorry for the crappy pics and reflections. thx

Looks like a vieja species to me.

I would guess maybe Vieja synspilum, but I am in no way positive on the actual species, and vieja are pretty hard to ID when small anyway.

My first thought was also synspilum, but I'm not positive either. A clearer pic would help.

the guy told me it's not for sale. he's supposed to have smaller ones but they dont look like this one. can someone show me juvies of vieja synspilum? small ones are around 17$
