"Green Texas", I just got through researching about Carpintis bout an hour ago.

That one looks like a Carp, "Escondido" variant. Notice the worm pearl on chin. As far as color goes, its always misleading because we don't know wether its your lighting, camera, stress, or perhaps the fish is truly "reddish". But I also notice you say you liked the blue pearls, but from the pic theres no blue so I know its the lighting or camera.

I have 2 Red Texas, not much resemblance. Id say you have a reg Texas. Carpintis's spotting is more blotchy than dots. Like Calihawk's pics. Def not a Carpintis.
 
So I picked this little guy up at a local fish store yesterday for $4.98. Somebody had brought him and another smaller one in so I picked him up because his blue color was absolutely stunning. It's not so great in the pics because he's in a pretty crude quarantine, but they are pretty clear. Anyways, I think he's at least part Hericthys carpintis.

Did the LFS have it labeled? Did the LFS have the "somebody's" contact info?
