Today i was at a fish store and i got this rescuse for dirt cheep as long as i promised to take good care of him cose hes beat up. So i took him home and hes in the 75 gallon free and safe. He was labled as a Jack Dempsy but there no way. He is about 8 inches right now.... so what is he really???

wait for it to color up a bit and it might be easier to tell, almost looks like my old robertsoni did when i first got him, he had absolutely no color and was barred he was so stressed and beat up i wouldnt have known what he was for a week or two if a fellow member hadnt already known what it was

If it is a hybrid, its not a Flowerhorn. Its a bit insulting to call regular hybrids FH's because they took a lot of line breeding/luck to create.

it looks nothing like a dempsey. whats wrong with you people, every single JD hybrid ive ever seen displayed lots of JD traits. this has absolutely ZERO traits of a JD.
the fins, and body are reminiscent of a convict, especially the pattern, it just looks like a convict firemouth hybrid.

If you see JD in there you must be seeing icelandic heritage in Wesley Snipes also
