Could be orino or negromaculata. The additional bar makes me think negromaculata more than orino. If he starts showing additional lighter bars in between the darker ones its negromaculata. If the bars become more circular with spangling surrounding it, then orino. wont know for sure til he gets bigger. Either way, nice pickup for $25. Maybe a couple more pics of the other side and the front and might get a more positive id on him. Thanks for sharing
Negors will show barring at the 1a and 2a, the fourth bar is more of the predz cichla. Orino, far from it, just because it has a golden ring around the bars, doesn't mean it is a Orino. Ocells share this trait as well, but it's easy to see the difference in the two. But I do agree with you that $25 beans for a good looking cichla is worth it, and yes, extra picture will help with id'ing this little guy.Could be orino or negromaculata. Looking at the picture I would say that the cichla that you have is a ocell (guiana).
i agree with hayn guyana occel looks like mine did a while back they are second only to broko occelaris and beautiful as adults tons of red look at hulons occel before you change fish shes awesomeThat wasn't what I was hoping to hear. I wouldn't pay $25 for an ocell. I'll probably have to go talk to the LFS owner and work something out then
