Friend of mine landed this yesterday, im thinking sucker but for real I dont have a clue what it is.

Sure they are. Chubs is given to a range of minnows. There are the Nocomis chubs (river chub, hornyhead chub, bluehead chub, etc.), Semotilus chubs (creek chubs, fallfish). These the ones we usually think of as "chubs", however, there are also some Hybopsis chubs (bigeye chub), Notropis chubs (redeye chub), Gila chub (humpback chub), so on..
Back to the post, this fish does look like a fallfish. But I don't any experience with having those fish in hand, so take it for what it is worth.
