heres a occel with a black top fin

Yeah, I still have a lil trouble telling the deference between some Mono's and some Occels at the smaller sizes. When the PB are smaller it's all in the head shape right? Mono's have a shorter nose and is slopped more, correct? I haven't seen a whole lot of Occel with black top fins either but there is obviously some with it huh?

The 2 lager bass in the last picture were Monos, and in the first series of pictures it was a split group of 3 and 3 Orinos, and Monos (even with only two bars they can be Monos) And that stunning individual on the #4 Post, is a very nice looking Mono! Thats a keeper.

I think that the big guys are ocells. Ocells generally if I remember correctly have longer vertical stripes that go down further. Monos only grow about half way down. They may have a little big of mono genes in there but I think they are ocells.

could u please elaborate on why you think they are hybrids especially the bottom one? imo the bottom one exhibits the most characteristics of an occel

They have a line running down their eyes which is typical of a mono and the actually eyes are a silvery red colour. True ocells tend to have deep red eyes IMO.
