It appears to be washed out. I've had young severums like that before with dull eyes. In fact, I had a female severum that was solid gray with dull eyes and a maroon anal fin who spawned with a really colorful turquoise male, and all the fry ended up gray with dull eyes like their mother. Once they get to spawning age, the eyes will turn bright orange or red during spawning like other sevs. After spawning, they go back to being gray.
