I got this pleco from a fellow MFK member, and we both are stumped on the ID, so I need some help. I know its some kind of psueda hybrid because of the spikes along the side the body.

Can you get a better pic of the head? Looks like it might have the "crest" the leporacanthicus have and it looks like the "beacons" from a l091 on the dorsal. If its some kind of hybrid leporacanthicus id be extremely interested in purchasing it from you. If your willing that is.

Just a young 91 they can either keep or lose these odd patterns as they grow
If you go through some of the Asian vendor sites especially the ones from Japan you'll see similar fish. They charge up the A for them

yea is like a cross of a L091 and L273. Its part pseuda because of the spines along the sides of the body
The lighter one was around 8"-9" this fish had amazing colour. Not all are blackish fish.
leporacanthicus have "spines" along their body as well.
This fish is not a hybrid it's pure leporacanthicus

It's not a hybrid OP is just saying it is because it has "spines" on it's body even though all leporacanthicus
have them
