No it's not the lighting or tannings in the water those look straight up hrp lol. Well to me at least.
This is my con x hrp male. It has more the lighter con grey with hrp bars and alittle red and blue in the fins.

She was sold to me as an hrp too. She spawned a few times already and i never saw her orange belly. Just a lot of blues.

Sounds like the hrps my lfs got yesterday. They have a female just like that and one that has orange and less blue and bars

One of my convicts shows little to no orange even when spawning. She does fade pretty black though when she is not spawning, but when she does she turns all nice grey and vivid black stripes but still very very little orange. Her sister is the opposite, very vivid all the time and orange all the time though not as bright as when she is spawning.
What do you think my fish is? See the fish that I have shows a lot of blue. But not orange or gold.
