Traded a red devil in for these guys yesterday. The LFS owner didn't know what they were and they tank they were in had them labeled "earth eaters" but he said that wasn't correct so, can someone help me out. I think one is male(blue spangle on his throat and side and more aggressive) and the other is female. Excuse the rainbow and jack.

if it helps they're only about 2-3 inches

they are either mayan cichlids, or mayan cichlid texas cichlid hybrids. the body and black markings say mayan cichlid but the blue specks says texas.

I hope they're not mayan to a mayan hybrid because I was looking for small cichlids. smh

That's unfortunate I agree with possible Mayan Texas mix. That's what happens when you buy mutts lol. I personally love surprises

I was thinking they would be a some kind of earth eaters that I hadn't seen before smh lol. I don't have the space for big cichlids right now. but I'm believing that are mayan/texan hybrids .

After looking at pictures of mayans and texas for the last 30mins. I think it's safe to say I have 2 mayan/texas hybrids.
