I inherited these from my brother but Im not sure what they are other that some sort of Dollar or Pacu. Can someone give me an ID please?

I think closely related to redhook "Luna". Maybe this version has more of a black tail.

Looks from pics they have some orange sort of spotting on body are they Myleus rubripinnis luna, im certainly no expert just a guess, they look nice tho

I think so too. These guys are called pacu, but they're pretty much oversized silver dollars. Kinda in between pacus and the normal small SDs.

Thanks guys. Having googled dolphin pacu I am now pretty sure that is what they are.

Are these common in the hobby? I've never seen them before
