Well that depends on the KIND of cichlid. For things that are bulkier like convicts or probably even oscars then yes and probably even with a severum as long as it's not an overly docile one but for things like kribs or apistos then no. But I'm sure you already knew that.

Second fish - female Urophthalmus X texas. (Or Urophthalmus X something similar to a texas, maybe a hybrid in itself.)

Well the sunfish will be alright with cichlids such as cons oscars severums and probably Firemouths it won't go so well with dwarfs like kribs and apistos.

If it is a green sunfish, they get super mean when they are big and will kill small cichlids like convicts.

I disagree. Even kribs would be fine. Apistos are not "real" cichlids LOL
