Yeah they're probably a bit stressed. The gender won't matter really unless you're trying to breed them... And breeding them is quite a feat much harder than discus... You'll probably want to use something larger or at least longer than a 4 foot 120 gallon if that's your goal.

No goal really just looking at options for my tank, thought maybe a big impressive pike would be nice.

How shy are they?

No clue haven't kept them yet...
If definetly want to though. Personality is probably just the same as most lugubris pikes given time. Interactive and begging for food. Use the search bar on mfk and you can find lots of info on them besides that and maybe pm someone who had them I believe fisker still had some

So i went back to the fish shop and they had reduced the pike to £15, i could not say no at that price.

He/she is very picky with with food only eating prawns and blood worm.

He gets really dark when there is food in the tank he likes. I was a bit worried at first that he was a bit shy but now he seems to beg for food.

I have been starving him now a bit, he is also in with a Red Devil in the hopes that it teachs him pellets are food. I did sneak a few pellets into the prawns he eat as well. He started following pellets just not taken any yet.

I am really please with him so far makes a difference from the normal cichlids i keeps.
