That will really depend on the fish in question, most if not all of them will lose the red dot eventually as they grow...

I’d even go as far as saying by the time yours reaches about 5-9” the dots should be completely gone too :)

Below is a pic of my old girl at around 13”, she had the same dots as yours when she was only 1.5” long...

Its all the same species, but kind of like chameleons, they can “adjust” their color a little bit depending on mood and environment...

Like my old girl if she was in a good mood she’d be slightly molted in color like the above photo, but when she was in a bad mood or feeling more aggressive she would show much darker body lines and almost no molted colors...

And if i planning to keep them with little schooling fish types..what schooling fish types do you suggest to try.......? planning him to move 120gallon also

Bathi Bathi also forgot to mention, regarding the colors, from what i’ve seen with most puffers i’ve kept is; the lighter the substrate and envrionment the lighter the color of the puffer usually...

The darker the substrate, the darker the color of the puffer usually as they want to blend in with their envrionment as much as possible...

Finally, incase you werent told, you should try and pellet train your puffer as well as give it a crunchy diet, crunchy diet is for when it starts to get bigger to keep their teeth in check...

Honestly, none... but if you are to try, something Small, not agressive and very fast that you dont mind losing...

I’ve in the past only really had my fahaka live with one yellow lab chiclid happily in a 200G... but that was even touch and go a lot of times...

Also problem with puffers is that they all have their own personality, so some are viscious killers from the word go, others are quite timid, then you get those that are fine for years and suddenly turn psychotic over night...

Hence, no matter what you try, make sure its quarantined and something you dont mind losing...

But to be fair, once your puffer grows a bit and recognizes you as its owner, you’ll find they really are like puppy dogs of the water and come greet you every time you walk by...

-EDIT-

Also remember to quarantine any new fish that go in with your puffer so it doesnt get sick incase it does eat it :p
