Sorry I know this is the wrong forum but it's the main one I post in and didn't know where else to post it. Mods move if you want....

Caught this guy in the lake last night and kept him overnight in an empty tank I had. If it's illegal I will get rid of it of course but I'm wanting to find more info on it. I thought it was a juvi red ear at first but I'm not so sure. Huge mouth on this little guy.

Edit to add: I am in Indiana and didn't find anything here about this fish.

err i thought I deleted this. lol Anyway I've been told a Green Sunfish. So yeah that 29 I was asking about last week. It's in there. I've read they don't normally reach more then 7". Could it work for the long haul or at least for a while?

If its by itself with large frequent water changes it will probably be fine. Bigger would be better however, keep in mind they only get 7" but they are very thick, heavy bodied fish as they mature. They are also definetly the most attractive and entertaining sunfish to own so ENJOY!

It's not a blue gill guys. Mouth is way way too big for a blue gill and check the yellow markings on the ear and fins.

I was told when i caught one that looked like that it was a rock bass. That was jsut a passre by that siad that, I do not know how reliable he was.

thats it I am going fishing and catching some new tankmates.... lol
