kenyi males are yellow..............wtf????

Kenyi males become yellowish. Prior to the transformation they're blue fish with black stripes, like the females. With that said, it looks like a female kenyi there based on fin tip shape, and size of the fish.

he has both characteristics of the
electric blue
and the Elongatus Pseudotropheus.

Not really. The electric blue (johanni) has horizontal stripes. Also, the fish in the photo has the classic stockiness found in the metriaclima genus and lacks the elongated form most elongatus have as well as a different stripe pattern.

Yep, I'd say lombardoi.

As for sex, could go either way. Maybe I missed it, but how big is this fish? It looks pretty large...You can see yellow in it. So could be two things: could be a male that was subdominant and therefore didn't colour up in whatever tank he was in, or could be a female who took on some male colouring to help hide from a dominant male like they often do.

Metriaclima lombardoi with this one being a female. It is the only mbuna in the Lake where the male is of a yellow colouring and the female being blue.
All other females are either of a yellow, red/orange, brown or beige colouring, that is besides the caeruleus and callainos species.:naughty::ROFL::headbang2:nilly:
