ID? Red on fins. Suddenly being a jerk!

There is absolutely no chance that you have a blue rock krib (those are pictures of my fish). The head shape is wrong and the blue rock krib is so rare as to almost not exist at all in the hobby. The red on the fins does make me think Victorian and the rounded head resembles the Neochromis species (or Tropheops if it was Malawi). But I've never seen a Neochromis with that coloration. My Neochromis rufocauldalis is bright blue and they are in the hobby at the moment. The "suspected female" is obviously a totally different species.

It is a male blue rock crib indeed. SC name matches invoice. Will take next photo of it with a Canon DSLR and you can see for yourself.

Oh, and the females are Obliquidens. Thanks everyone for input.

I guess you will believe what you want to believe. I see absolutely no resemblance to the Blue rock kribs in any of the pictures you just posted.
Here are pics of mine:

My best guess (and it is a guess) is you might have Pundamilia macrocephala.

Uhhh no. He looks just like your first pic when he shows his colours at all. Unfortunately, it's hard to catch him in dominance with the convict that's in there.

I went to the retailer I purchased him from, showed the guy the pics and his eyes lit right up and he called over the other staff. He was there when these fish were sold, approx 2 years ago he says. He says they haven't been able to get them in since, and he hasn't been able to find any.

He wrote down for my wife as an ID...

"Paralabidichromis
Hap. Nubulis"

Also, check this website: http://aquabxl.fr-bb.com/t759-debuts-en-victoria

About 3/4 of the way down you'll find this picture:

That isn't your fish NOR is it mine, but looks identical.

I don't "like" the fact that I have one. You can think all you like. I wanted to know what it was so I could pair him up as I like his colours and temperment, but it sounds like that will be an endless hunt. You say it like you have this ultra-rare cichlid and because it's ultra-rare that NO ONE in the world can possibly have one. Simply not possible.

I appreciate the input though, as I've thoughly NOT enjoyed translating Swedish material to learn more about this fish...

The pic you referenced is Haplochromis nubilus (aka Astatotilapia nubila) Mine is below:

Note the very pointed “snout”

The blue rock kribensis is being maintained at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago. I got some many years ago because I knew a guy who knew a guy ……. Unfortunately I lost them to disease. People come to me all the time looking for them and no one has yet to find any for many years. That is the reason it is so hard to believe that any fish store sold this species. They are not very aggressive at all, generally. The Lake Victorian hobbyists in Europe tell me that they have never seen nor heard of blue rock kribs ever being in Europe. Are you in the US or in Europe (because I note the way you spell colour)

My only other guess would be Haplochromis sp “blue obliquidens”. Picture of mine below.
BlueObliquidens8617.jpg

Which does have the blue color and does match the body shape more closely and it is available in Europe.

That blue obliquiden does resemble him very closely as well when his colour is out.

In any case, what would cause him to suddenly be aggressive with other obliquiden females (non-blue)? :/ They're the only ones he chases, and it seems to be getting worse.
