I would say the top one is an emperor but whats up with the bottom one, prego or what?Emperors are safe.

The second I think is a african species and its sting aint very powerfull but this guys get big. Be shure to reserch deeply on any species you want to get and for starters get to know from a reliable sorce (like on line care sheets) the comon and cientific name of thouse species. There are quite a few scorps and many look much alike.

Yep, I agree. Probably best to start off with the emperor seeing how I believe they are a beginners species of scorpion. Also less deadly. :D

first one looks definately like an emperor, pretty safe... But iv never seen the second one before...

Generally the larger the stinger they have the less deadly they are so if it has a tiny stinger it useually means it doesn't need to use much venom to get the job done be careful best to avoid being stung by any Scorpion

someone told me at a local herp store that small pinchers means its poisonus
but the emperor is more popular and im sure more handleable
but i have no invertabrate expirience

nonono
the rule is the smaller the claws the less venom.
Some of the deadliest scorpions have massive stingers.
for example deathstalkers are deadly and have huge tails.
