hmmm, i always thought it was the overall size of the scorpion that determined its venom level...

the rule is the smaller the claws the less venom.
Some of the deadliest scorpions have massive stingers.
for example deathstalkers are deadly and have huge tails.

You are wrong and rigth at the same time:D In fact you just contradicted yourself;) The very general rule is: big tail and stinger with small pincers powerfull venom because it means the animal uses more its sting to kill prey not its claws(one example would be that scorpion you posted;)), now big powerfull claws and small stinger less powerfull venom because it uses more its claws to kill prey more that it´s sting, like emperor scorps do. Of corse this is a very general rule and I woulnt put my money on it:grinno: Some deadly or at least very dangerous scorps have big claws and a relatively small stinger. I cant thing no better than Andrometrus scorps(hope Im spelling rigth) they are very similar to empero´s but their sting is much more powerfull:eek: The absolute ideal is to now for shure wich species you are dealing with and do a deep homework on that. That is the only way to be safe:)

Nope;) but of corse big scorps inject more venom than smaller ones. Some big scorps are deadly, others have a sting similar to a bee

Dont know maybe but even if done under anestisia is a dangerous and mutilating thing to do. If you dont want to mess with scorp venom dont keep scorps at all, there are more than our fairshare of b. a. invertebrades that arent venomous at all;)
