Id/Sex Please

Sexing fishes by how pointed their fins are or if they're developing slight humps is not very accurate, venting is more reliable. I have seen numerous females with both characteristic.

With trimac females will have dark dorsal.

As for the ID it's hard to say if it's a pure Trimac or not. And since it wasn't listed as one there's a high chance that it's a low grade mix, flowerhorn. Post some pictures of it in the tank when you get the chance.

Thanks for your post, It was listed as A true Trimac when I bought it, But you know how things are I like make sure before I get to attached to a fish. I will enjoy it no less of its not pure but I like knowing exactly what I got

:redface: didn't read all of your opening post.

There's a very good chance it's a Trimac than. Most lfs are more familiar with Flowerhorns than Trimacs.
 
Sorry to bump this older topic but I was just looking for more input on my fishes Sex. He/She seems to be overly aggressive twards tank mates. Hes around 5 inches and I heard that Trimac can reproduce at an early age.... Is My Trimac a female getting ready to spawn or is he just a jerk?
