ID shark gills

Nothing but triuble with this guy... every couple months he gets sick or diseased with fungus or whatever... he has been ok for nearly 2 months now but has not eaten much since. Now his gills look weird like this and he is swimming more near the top.. he is 14 inches long. just added 2 new fish to tank a few days ago but they seemed extremely healthy. got them local. he also has a few white dots that look like could be ich. never had ich in this tank though. let me know what to do please!

None of the other fish are acting weird at all nor do thyy look like this...

his throat also looks almost like a lump.. see above images. I can get any type of pics you need. Please just tell me what I will need to buy so I can do it. Want to catch this early if possible. thanks!
 
Whats up with his eyes and what is your water change routine?

I do a 50% water chnnge every other week. did one about a week ago. his eyes have always been like that off and on since I got him a year and a half ago. always either cloudy or sometimes swollen. His nose is busted becuuse he bangs the sides of tank when he gets spooked.
 
how long has he had the spots and do they come and go

Post your water parameters, tank size (easy big fella :p) stock list etc

Yeah,I figured that about the nosetip.You might have to ramp up the water changes to weekly as that is a pretty big and active cat giving off loads of wastes.What is the tank size and filtration and what else do you have in there?
 
My midevil which is one of the fish I got a few days ago is hamging out and sitting near top... His bottome fin has been kinda against his body since I got him and I did see him flicking himself against the bottom sideways... Not sure if him sitting at top is abnormal though since iI have only had him a few days...

Just did a test strip...

The system is usuallyaround 260 gallons.
Not sure what the tank is either a 210 or 220. sump is 50 gallons and I also have an FX6. I have had the sump off for about a month cause I was having yrouble with the pump so it has just been the FX6.

Tankmates are
WC polypterus tikinso endlicheri
WC polypterus ansorgii
WC polypterus koloton
(did jurassic aquatics really go out of business?)
10 inch oscar
8 inch pleco
10 inch sun cat
and the 2 new guys:
9 or so inch Jack Dempsey
and a slightly larger midevil.
