So, i'm making this thread to update you guys on my 3 "little" monsters... Here's the story:
About a week ago i got a single ID shark from my friend who had gotten it from Petsmart a day earlier... After i told him of their potential sizze he no longer wanted it so I took it... I soon found that my little guy seemed really lonely in his 20 gallon Quarentine tank so 2 days after I got my first ID shark I found myself in Petsmart purchasing 2 more little guys. You could tell my first shark was lonely because he would just kinda sit at the bottom and was NOT active AT ALL like most sharks are... When I added the 2 new guys they were pretty active but, my original was still sitting on the bottom... But what do you know, the next day they were all swimming together like nothing had ever happened... I am really enjoying this experiance... I have ALWAYS wanted to raise some large catfish and EVERYTIME I do it goes completely worng.... My RTC that I got as a baby ate a pleco and choked to death... My Baby TSN would not eat and just died... So i kinda have a bad history with "baby" "large" catfish but they have ALWAYS been on my top 10 list of faveorite fish and i have a REALLY good feeling about these guys. I will post pics as soon as I get home... I will be constantly updateing this thread.
ENJOY! :D

They aren't eating just yet but i'm still working on that.

everytime I get ID sharks they end up starving to death or not growing fast enough and get eaten by their tankmates. which is a shame cause I really like them. I might get a few to grow out in my 120 brackish (they are naturally occuring in brackish water) then put them in the 225 when they get too large.

Great projects, love id sharks. What are you tryin to get them eatin?

Well, I have read that many do not like real meaty foods so I have been trying the Hikari "Baby" Pellets but without any luck so far. Other then that I have tried the frozen cubes of "emerald green entree" and the sharks sorta check it out a little bit but never try to go for it... I have honestly tried everything i got... Bloodworms, NLS Pellets, Flakes, algae wafers, black worms, ghost shrimp, shrimp etc. but they never seem to be interested... well actually, the ONE bigger shark sorta goes up to some of the foods and sniffs it checks it out then just swims away... But, hopefully with time they will start to eat! :)

I may be wrong but isn't a 225 to small for these guys? Even though they get around 2-3 feet, they are CONSTANTLY moving fish and need lots of space to move around because they could damage themselves by running into the glass (many ID sharks get easily scared...).

I'm not gonna have ANY trouble with tankmates eating them because, they are not going into any tanks with fish big enough to eat them. They are currently in a 20g QT tank but in a few days they will move into a 75 and it will only be them and a small blood parrot. But i AM worried about the starving thing though... :/ But IMO I think that they are just kinda stressed and will hopefully be eating like champs in no time :)
