I'm thinking about going back and picking up 5 more Centrarchus from the LFS (they had a tank full of them) and turning my 55 gallon into a biotope for them.

I know the last one is a Jack Dempsey, I was just trying to get a clear side shot of the grammodes and she jumped in.
Thanks for the positive IDs though! So far they all seem to be getting along very well. Next fish I'm on the lookout for are a black nasty, a decent looking green terror, a decent little tiger oscar, a festae, and a nicaraguan cichlid.
I agree with Jonclark, both the grammodes and haitiensus would not be good tankmates.
Haitiensus are best kept alone, along with their aggressiion level, they need larger tanks and warmer temps than most cichlids to stay healthy (high 80s), and the grammodes are just too aggressive for most communities.
A pair of haitiensus should have nothing smaller than 100 gals just to themselves
and keep a close eye on the grammodes they can take out all other fish in a tank overnight once they hit stride

The tank has 2 flowerhorns (1 kamfa and 1 kamalau), 1 carpintis, 2 blood parrots (one is the dominant fish in the tank), 1 jack dempsey, 1 creamsicle midas, 1 red devil, 1 synspilum, 1 grammodes, 1 flier cichlid, 1 belly crawler pike, 2 sveni pikes, and a glass cutter catfish.
That is a group of rough customers. Don't expect the centrarchus to last too long.
