They are not illegal until they are on the noxious list and unless you have proof that they are definately going on the noxious list and not just a proposal, I would refrain from saying such.That debate is very much up in the air and not something that is going to happen over night and the import laws don't cover fish already here.

Anyway,Wetpetz has had them at times ohhsweetness so it might pay to give them a call too.:)
 
i have tried looking for where wetpetz is ...is it ashop or a internet site
because all the times i hav tried to find them on the net it says that the site is not there any more
 
If they are potentially going on the noxious list, then that means they are established in several bodies of water. Find out where and then get a net and go fishing.

Bichirs aren't established in any bodies of water in Australia to the best of my knowledge, it's more that they've been deemed potentially dangerous to the native environment if for any reason they are released into a body of water, and that is why there are considering on making them a noxious species nationwide.
