Would it be redundent if I too agreed with leech.
 
Just in case you can't get the pics a leech will have a small disc shape at each end, the mouth end has the larger disc.
 
im not sure but i think something leeched into your tank....lol....sorry i couldnt resist!
 
I'm also going with the leech, if you need to remove it from anything use a lighter or match, the heat tends to make them let go pretty quickly. If you pull them off i believe they spew/excrete back into the opening and i'm fairly sure it's mildly poisonous. Well it's definately not healthy.

I hate to say but the best and easiest way to get a leech off is plain old salt. Drys them out fast and they fall instantly off.
 
Leeches come off by themselves once they have fed.
