I am going to say all Labiatus but Modest_Man made me think about something before and it is most likely a Midas/RD mix but that wild caught factor make me believe it is all RD. Where is the second pic?

Ummm, ment to say sex them :) woooops.
sorry about that.

I do understand that almost all midas or reddevils are mixed. just never seen one all red like the first one, when i pulled it out I thought it was bleeding due to the color.

Bottom one is a male. Need a shot of the vent from the top one.

The bottom one may be more than just a rd/midas mutt. I've not seen fish other than flowerhorn types with the spangling on the unpaired fins. Note how the top one is lacking (which is normal).

How's this for red? Wildcaught on Oahu, by yours truly. Named him Rambo.

Mine looked exactly like that when i pulled him/her out. shes in a tank with white carpet under it ( its bare bottom ). So i'm sure shed darken up if i moved her. I'll upload more pics.

The longer they're in captivity the less red they become. Based off my personal experiences it has to do with sunlight. Kind of like a person getting darker, tanning, when exposed to lots of sunlight.
