Geo id

the first is a heckels acara shows all signs of being one
the second two are what are puzzling me came in as surinams but the spot looks wrong and the red/blue patterning of the tail is spots and not stripes they are all between 3-4''

thats what i thought they may be. the only fish i have found where the juvies look like mine are G. altifrons 'Rio Curuma'

Any other suggestions, by the way i got these for $7 each from work and we have 25 of them customer price 8.99

wow good price for geos i got my altifron for 10 bucks, but it retailed like 15 at 4". and im pretty sure its right (the id).

so hoping they are altifrons but these are not showing much colour yet. Got them last night after my shift, trying them on new life spectrum and brine shrimp with spirulina, do you think i should try bloodworm to get colour. Im always worried about diseases associated with bloodworm

Any other people out there want to give an idea or is it a forgone conclusion these are altifrons

i have mine on market shrimps. brine shrimp will work fine i think. as far as colors, mine shows good coloring, not great. but good enough.

mine hate brine shrimp they just spit it out so im using nls as staple with alternating feeds of bloodworm and brine shrimp

everytime i look at them i see something else that isnt surinamensis those white tips that seem to be growing, the tail patternation, the body striping and the absent spot. Hoping these are a nice species of altifrons, they possibly came from columbia or peru cant find the invoice for them as yet.
