I know they are sunfish, i know they are from New York area, i know the pics a little vague but thats what makes it fun, hey anyone can ID a good pic

At this size it is really going to be tough to id them accurately. A clear pic would help. Right now, if I squint my eyes right, I can see two fish, couple of fake plants, a whisper (or is that a tetra) power filter. How I'm doing so far?

So far pretty good, now narrow that down, do a zoom on the 2 fish

the only reason i left out blue spotted is because it doesn't look like one. the likely hood that it's a long ear is slim with there rarity in NY. that also throes out them being a dollar, orange spot.

Hmmm, I think they are 2 different fish, look again at the length of the tail on the back compared to the front, What do you think now??

I know... crummy camera, hopin Santa brings me a new one for Christmas... not really i borrowed the pic from a friend who was trying to find out what they are. I was sure there would be an expert here that could ID them with one eye shut. My personal estimation is punkin seed.
