I'd these turtles please

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So 500liter is still not enough for 5 turtles? If I was to put in guppys knowing that I will lose a few over time would having guppy as part of the diet harm the turtles

feederfish aren't really going to benefit them much, not that they ever benefit much of anything. I had an alligator I trained to eat Reptomin pellets because it was healthier than most live foods. Still did the random mouse and raw chicken, but wasn't a staple food. Dusted crickets would be more beneficial if you want to go with live foods or Dubia roaches

It was more of a tank mate/dinner :( i would give them pellet diet just maybe the eat a guppy on the off chance. wow an alligator. What size pond was that in?

With five turtles in one enclosure I"ll just echo what was previously said, optimum filtration is paramount.

I've never had an issue with plecos biting tankmates and leaving sores... my pleco does occasionally attach to my map turtle's shell, because it has a tendency to grow small amounts of algae, but it's never for long and it does no harm to the turtle.
My pleco has been with my turtles since I first got them about a year ago, and has never ended up with nipped fins... and Frank is right, plecos create a lot of excess bioload so be prepared for heavy, heavy filtration and frequent water changes.
I'm also curious about the other turtles... could you post pics of all five by any chance?
