Not a tinfoil, I second filament barb.

Headshape looks wrong from all the internet pics but the coloration looks about the same. My barb that i have has a blunter head

Barbs are not characins.

I forward the motion for a Cyprinid only forum....Theres enough discussion on
big rare barbs,mahseer,various 'sharks',loaches,etc around this place to warrant
it...in my opinion.

yea i think you got it right. how big do they get? i just found my endli trying to swallow it when theres no way its going down. Whatta sad story

I really can't say exactly how big they'll get.I have never seen any bigger than
about 6'' but I have been told that they can do up to 10'' in the wild?However,
I think there are a couple species that are very similar to these so I would imagine
it easy to confuse with a larger growing type?Anyway,they are nice looking fish and
not often seen,but recently seem to be becoming more numerous in the trade?I'd
get a few more of them if you can.
