I caught this bass yesterday in a farm pond and took it home and put it in my aquarium with my CA/SA cichlids. We had been catching largemouth bass so I didn't look to closely and assumed it was a largemouth. When I put it in the aquarium and saw it swimming around I thought it looked more like a smallmouth. It's mouth is smaller than the others we caught. That's why I kept him because his mouth looked too small to eat my little midas cichlid. What do you think? Thanks.

Thanks. That was another possibility I had thought of, but wasn't sure. His mouth seemed small, but I guess he was altogether smaller than the others we caught. lol He's about 6 to 8 inches. I was thinking I was probably the only person fishing hoping to catch the smallest fish possible. lol

It looks like it could be a lmb or spotted. But by the way you described it, it sure does sound like a spotted. I think we need more pictures :)

Well I guess I won't be taking picrures because someone else in the tank tore him up and he is floating upside down and dying. Is there any hope of saving him I could tell my wife to do until I get back? Last night the small Oscar was chasing it around as soon as I put him in there. One of the big tinfoil barbs was bothering him too. My wife said that his dorsal fin was completely gone. Not sure which fish it was.
