Came across this cat at lfs
I thought it was pretty unusual looking and ugly
I asked owners they Call it a Chanel cat ?

I thought these are for eating not keep
In a home aquarium?? Any input I was debating going back to get It but was unsure if it’s even a legal fish to own in ca

Might be worth checking differences between Brown bullhead and black bullhead if you were thinking of keeping one. Easily mixed up but may need a slightly bigger tank for a black one. And watch the brown with finer nets, buggers for getting stuck. i remember when we could get hold of these here in the uk, sadly no more.

No not in the LFS. They are a Native species. Someone probably caught it and decided to drop it off at the store.
See that fairly regularly here, haha. Not natives, but introduced pest species like Brown Bullheads.

Used to see very frequently variations of "Guppies for sale. Caught in the stream behind my house." No, those are Gambusia, you've just committed a crime with a sentence of up to 5 years prison and $100K fine.
